At NRL we value the communities we work in, which is why we feel it is our social and corporate responsibility to give back to them. For us sponsorship means supporting a cause that you are passionate about, so when a local school asked us if we’d sponsor their triathlon, encouraging young children in the school to lead healthier more active lifestyles we were happy to help.
Brabin’s Endowed Primary School is located in Chipping, Lancashire and the school is concerned with the development of all its pupils to achieve their potential; morally, spiritually, culturally, intellectually and physically. In doing so each child at the school is encouraged to grow into the kind of person who is capable of making a positive contribution to the society and environment in which they are to live. The school promotes healthy and active lifestyles by encouraging pupils to cycle to and from school, be active during playtime, grow vegetables in the school allotment and continually teaches them about healthy eating as part of the curriculum.
The triathlon was held over 2 days and NRL provided 500ml biodegradable sports drink bottles for all the children in the school which are long-lasting and can be used again for other sporting events attended or held by the school. NRL supplied the school with medals to present to all of the children who took part in the event as a way to recognise and reward their achievements and participation.
Greg Compton, Director of NRL comments on the sponsorship;
“At NRL, we care about educating the next generation and feel that it is important for us as a responsible recruitment business to actively promote healthy lifestyles both in work and at home. We were happy to sponsor Brabin’s primary school and hope that through supporting their triathlon event we can help to inspire children at the school to be more active and healthy.”
Rachel Wallace, Headteacher comments on the partnership;
“We are delighted that NRL sponsored our triathlon this year. For us as a primary school it is becoming increasingly important to promote active and healthy lifestyles to the children who attend our school and we always aim to do this in a way that is inclusive, fun and engaging. We would like to thank NRL for their contribution to our triathlon event; through providing sports bottles and medals they will help us to further promote physical exercise and fitness as fun, rewarding activities.”
The triathlon event ran on Friday 9th May 2014. If you would like to read more about the school you can visit their website.
