NRL are proud to have donated £522.20 towards a group of women who completed a 26.2 mile marathon walk across the Bowland Fells. The group of four, which includes the wife of NRL Director Greg Compton, set out on their trek in order to raise money for the fantastic work carried out by the North West Air Ambulance.
The charity operates 7 days a week throughout the entire year and helps to treat patients while they are being transported to a local hospital. The service saves lives and reduces the risk of patients being left with a long-term injury.
As explained on the group’s Just Giving page:
“Just as many people would not survive without the vital service they provide to communities such as ours, this charity relies on donations to keep their choppers in the air.”
The team of four managed to complete their personal challenge in around 8 hours and the impressive feat is mirrored by the £1,448.80 they managed to raise, way ahead of their initial £262 target.
